I know what you mean. “Blacksunset? Happy day? This is the brand that makes the ‘No Time For Bullshit’ and ‘Fuck Off’ shirts.” What happened?”

Nothing happened. Or rather, what happened was that I was honest.
Why is this sentence here

Blacksunset’s catalog is full of irony, philosophy, sarcasm and defiance. “NEVER.” is a refusal. “Judging You” is a sharp smile. I Woke Up In Someone Else’s Dream is an existential question. These are good shirts and I love them.
But sometimes I wake up in the morning and my first thought is neither philosophical nor ironic. Sometimes my first thought is simply: Let’s make today a good day.
And I don’t want to hide that idea. I don’t want to pretend that Blacksunset is all about sharpness and depth. Because that would be unfair. I am also the person who smiles at the coffee machine and says “morning” to a colleague. Who goes for a walk and doesn’t want to analyze anything. Who just wants a good day.
This shirt is for that person. And that person is me.
Bold block, like the rest

Typographically, it’s the same language used in the bold block text of ‘I Woke Up In Someone Else’s Dream’, where each line is a different length and the last word hits harder. “LET’S / MAKE / TODAY A / HAPPY / DAY” and “DAY” are down, big, for good.
This is important because it shows that a positive message doesn’t have to look like a motivational poster wall. She can look like Blacksunset – black fabric, white bold text, tight composition, designer look. Same visual language, different content.
And this is where I differ from most of the “positive message” shirts on the market. They are usually in a script font, pink in color, fine print – as if they are apologizing for their existence. This shirt makes no apologies. He says “HAPPY DAY” as forcefully as “NEVER.” says “no.”
Blacksunset’s most straightforward shirt

I’ve written a lot about how Blacksunset’s messages are ambiguous. “And So?” means different for each carrier. “NEVER.” is denial, promise, defiance or grief – depending on the day. “What If It’s Not a T-Shirt?” is a question that has no answer.
“Let’s Make Today a Happy Day” is not ambiguous. He means exactly what he says. And this directness is surprising, because in Blacksunset’s catalog he is almost unique.
And I think that directness is what makes him special. In the midst of irony and philosophy, to simply say “let’s make today a good day” takes a different kind of courage. It is the courage to be sincere at a time when everything is ironic.
To whom

For the person who doesn’t need layers. Who doesn’t want to have to unbutton their shirt. Who just wants to carry a good message for a good day.
But also for the person who knows the Blacksunset catalog and smiles when they see this shirt among the others. Who realizes that “Let’s Make Today a Happy Day” next to “No Time For Bullshit” and “Judging You” is itself ironic – not because the shirt is ironic, but because its context is.
And as a gift: this is a shirt you can’t go wrong with. It does not offend, does not provoke, does not require explanation. It just wishes you a good day. And who doesn’t want that?
