I could have just thrown those shirts away. Or left them in a closet. Or handed them to someone and said, ?Well, I had extras.?
But that does not feel right. Every shirt is for someone. Even the one where one letter in the print is slightly off.
That is why Blacksunset has a Yaga shop.
What is on Yaga
Yaga is the largest second-hand platform in Estonia. Our store there is Blacksunset resale – a place for products that no longer belong in our main e-shop but are far too good for the trash.
You will find items there at lower prices. But I want to be clear: it is not the same experience as blacksunset.ee. There is no premium packaging, no personal notes, and no full e-shop guarantee. Blanks can be from manufacturers other than the Tee Jays options used in our main shop. It is simpler. But the designs are still Blacksunset, and every shirt is wearable.
What we sell there
Older designs. Blacksunset evolves. Some designs that were in the catalog a year ago are no longer in the main store. But they are still good shirts with good design, just not in active retail anymore. Those go to Yaga.
Earlier blank stock. We have leftover blank shirts from different manufacturers in our warehouse. They are not always the same Tee Jays blanks we use in the main shop. Sometimes we print newer designs on them, sometimes even designs that have not yet been sold in the main store. So on Yaga you can occasionally find something unavailable anywhere else.
B2B leftovers. When we produce for business clients – hoodies, polos, T-shirts – some blanks are sometimes left over. They are not defective, just surplus. Those also go to Yaga with new designs.
Production defects. Sometimes production goes wrong. One letter is slightly damaged. A print is a little misaligned. A small flaw appears that you only notice if you know where to look. Those shirts do not go to our main e-shop because our standard there is high. But they are still fully wearable, and someone who does not mind a small flaw gets a good shirt at a good price.
Returns. Our return rate is around 5%, which is low. It is low because our sizing is consistent – we are not mass retail where nobody cares how many people tried the shirt before you. But sometimes people exchange size and a returned shirt comes back with opened packaging. That shirt goes to Yaga, not back to the main e-shop.
Why not just discount everything in the main shop
It is a fair question. I could have created an ?outlet? section on blacksunset.ee and sold everything cheaper there.
But I do not want to do that. In the Blacksunset e-shop, all products are held to the same level – same fabric logic, same print standard, same packaging, same experience. If I mix in lower-priced outlet pieces with minor flaws, that clarity disappears. The customer no longer knows what to expect.
Yaga is a separate place. You know you are going there for lower prices. You know packaging is different. You know there may be a minor defect. You make that decision consciously. It is fair for both sides.
And it is also more sustainable. The alternative is leaving good shirts unused in storage. A shirt that sits in a closet is waste.
Price and profit
Yaga prices are lower than in the main e-shop. And to be direct: we do not make profit from Yaga sales. It is not a revenue channel. It is a way to give products a second life and keep material in use.
I am not turning this into a big green marketing campaign. I just do not want good fabric to be thrown away. That is the whole philosophy.
What you will not find on Yaga
Not all sizes. Not all colors. Not all designs. And you cannot assume the blank is the same Tee Jays Sof Tee used in our main e-shop – Yaga items may be made on blanks from other manufacturers. Selection changes constantly, and I cannot promise your exact size or design is always there. If you want a specific design, exact sizing, Tee Jays quality, premium packaging, and full e-shop warranty – go to blacksunset.ee. That is always the right place.
But if you want to discover what is available right now and are open to surprises – check Yaga. Sometimes there are pieces there you cannot get elsewhere.
